Ladies & Germs,

Having an issue with my ice maker - GE Profile TBX22PRBSRWW. It makes ice but when I attempt to dispense it the ice doesn't come out. Sounds like solenoid is engaging but the auger is not turning. I've removed the "ice bucket" from inside the freezer an have attempted to move the motor/crusher by hand - no lick. Even tried to move it my getting more leverage with a long screw driver. Again, will not budge. In the past I have been able to move it by hand.

Any help on what needs replacement would be appreciated. A diagram would also be nice.

Thanks!

Follow up.

Took motor out. Upon doing so I noticed a large chunk of ice adhered to the motor assembly. I don't know if this was build up of condensation over the last 15 years or what. Looked like the ice was interfering with the gear assembly. I removed the ice and the unit appears to function again.

Just wondering if this is caused by some other problem - leaking, excessive heat then freezing, etc.

Blurry photos attached.

Thanks,
