Error Code F 06 is not mentioned in any of the documentation. After changing several parts, the problem was corrected with replacement of the front keypad.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem. Where did you order the keypad from? How is it replaced?

Thanks!

The part number was AP3717281 which is the front face plate with membrane switch. To replace it, remove the top of the washer to access the screws holding it in place. I looked at the screw holes in the replacement and found/removed those on the washer. The only interesting thing was removing/replacing the ribbon connector. It goes into a plastic connector on another piece. Look at the connector and there is a small bar that when lifted, allows the old ribbon to come out. Push the new one into the socket and press the bar down to engage. If you don't do this, you will be able to remove the ribbon with some light force, then wonder why you cannot get the new one to be inserted. Ordered from Appliance Parts Pro. Love their return policy. They are also keeping my range going with its keypad problem. Wish we could go back to dials & switches!!!

Thanks again for the response. I have the stacked version of the washer/dryer. Does this mean I have to remove the entire dryer from the top of the washer, then remove the top of the washer to access the keypad to replace it?

If so, do you have any idea how to remove the dryer? I looked at it and it doesn't seem too obvious how to un-stack it. Thanks!

I was finally able to fix it-- the new keypad frame did the job! I had to remove the dryer, remove the stacking sliders, remove the old keypad and disconnect the wiring modules and the magnetic dispenser drawer sensor. Then lift the cable housing and take out the old keypad, replace it with the new one, and do everything in reverse to put it back together.

The washer works perfectly! Sadly, the dryer keypad is starting to show symptoms of imminent failure. When that happens I'll skip replacing the striker or the door lock assembly-- I'll go straight for the keypad frame as it seems to be the weak link in this Frigidaire series.

Does anyone have any insight how to get the old control panel off? I took out the one screw I can find but won't budge. Guessing it's clipped in but don't want to break something trying to force it.
