Our whirlpool direct drive washer has problem

The temperature switch does not always work - specifically hot water fails to come out when hot/cold selected. Does not matter about settings on any other dial.

Temp switch replaced mid-Feb 2016 after hot water would 50% fail to come out into basin during hot/cold wash cycle -- cold water would come out instead of hot, Turning the knob back and forth from hot/cold to cold/cold would sometimes make it switch back to hot. Incidentally, warm/warm would work fine but accuwash settings did not work correctly.

Now the new temp switch, which worked flawlessly for 60 days, has starting doing the same thing.

Do not feel like spending $60 for water valve assembly or having APP seen new switch under warranty until someone can shed some light into what may be broken.

Thoughts? Could short in wiring harness do this? And I would think a short would cause no water to come out of water valve at all if hot selected instead of cold. Warm/warm also works fine.

Help?!?

What is the Electric Control Board (WP3955728) be responsible for this above?

That's a $185 part at APP new, and that may be a dealbreaker.
Thanks
