My washer is a Maytag Bravos, product number is MVWX700XW. Some time ago the washer was not spinning or agitating correctly and my clothes were all coming out terribly. I replaced the drive hub and nut and upon pulling the old one out found that all the teeth had been stripped. It's no wonder nothing was happening when I tried to loosen the nut.
But now, problem not solved. The stupid thing will still not agitate correctly, and now it won't spin the basket at all. Not during the pre start phase, not to spin the load, nothing.
I have the agitator out and the lid off. It was incredibly difficult getting the agitator off, probably due to Ca deposits. In service mode I can get it to agitate, the shaft will spin normally. But when I move it to spin mode, it makes a sound like it's changing but just doesn't. Then it won't spin and I get a low velocity error.
Where do I even begin to diagnose this?

A quick update as well. The agitator plate and drive hub are removed. The shaft that turns the agitator spins fine, and the hub that spins the basket does as well. However the basket will not budge.
I'm assuming the basket is hunker up and will not move as a result. Any good tricks to getting it out to clean? I've tried soaking in vinegar, then oxyclean, then phosphoric acid, and now I'm trying to break down the gunk using PB Blaster.
It will rock back and forth but will not turn or lift.
