NG dryer heating for first cycle, then won't relight.

Kenmore HT3 NG Dryer.
When unit is cool, I can observe the ignitor glowing, then the gas kicking on and lighting. The heat cycle will last several minutes, then the flame will go out. After a minute or two, the ignitor will glow again, you can hear a soft rattling noise for several seconds, once the ignitor is bright red hot, there is a click and the ignitor goes dark.
The gas almost always ignites the first time, when the dryer is cool, but never ignites subsequently after it's been hot or if you try to restart it when it's hot.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

That sounds like a bad set of "gas valve coils" commonly fail after the dryer warms up a bit. This is a fairly simple and cheap fix. Let me know how it goes

Thanks for confirming my suspicion.
