Trying to help a friend with her oven. Top oven, which can is both conventional and convection. Turned on convection heating and heard loud pop. Opened oven to see a little smoke and a burned hole in in the convection fan cover.UserPostedImage

As a result, none of the upper oven heating elements (convection, conventional or broil) would work. Also, the fan for the convection system wouldn't work. I removed the convection element/fan cover and noted part of the element had basically disintegrated...UserPostedImage

I replaced the convection heating element hoping that would solve all but realizing if it didn't there would be nothing lost as it would need replacing regardless. Now, the convection fan works but still none of the heating elements. Could someone please steer me in the right direction? I have looked online and it seems the next step is the wall oven control board (part number WB27T10569). If, in fact this is my next step, where is it located and how is it accessed? Is there a way to test before replacing? For your information, the lower oven is still working fine and the display board is still working, as well.

Thank you so much for any and all assistance.

Still need help...anyone?

* Replaced control board.
* Replaced daughter board (necessary as traces on back of board were soldered (melted) together, probably a result of the power surge that I believe was the cause of all of this. (Attached image of the rear of the board).
* Checked continuity on hi-limit switch.
* Checked continuity on bi-metal switch.
* Checked continuity on all wires going to each of the five heating elements.
* Turned on oven.
* Control board functioning properly - all display works and can hear relays switching.
* Daughter board functioning properly - can hear relays switching.
* Lower oven works.
* Upper oven - all three elements not heating but convection fan works as designed.

I don't know what else to check. Any and all suggestions very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
