I have a Danby DBC162BLSST that has started to act up. It will continue to cool well past the temperature set on the display. Example: I set it to 50° and it cools all the way down to the LO warning/beeping. Per the manual, this means: If inner temperature is lower than 34°F(1°C), “LO” is shown in the display panel and the alarm will turn on. I thought maybe I had a faulty temperature sensor, but the more I thought about it, would the system know to report LO if the sensor was bad? If I stick my hand in there after the LO warning is displayed, it's quite cold (I'd say much colder than what I selected on the controls). Something isn't doing its job and the system doesn't know to shut off the cooling. What could be wrong? I'd like to repair this vs. trashing it. It would be best to check the board in the unit. If the relay is stuck, it would keep the unit running instead of stopping once it reaches temp. Here is the part number for you. Part number: AP5180369

Turns out it was exactly the same as the one in the unit (good suggestion!). I swapped out the main board and the smaller board with the relay and the fridge seems to be functioning correctly for now. I ordered the part yesterday and it arrived today (NH). Amazing! PS. I found a JQX-115F, 012-1HS1(551), 12VDC Relay on fleabay for about $8. I ordered it and will swap out the bad relay on my old board. Never hurts to have spare parts laying around!

Hi Jeff,
I'm afraid my DBC162BLSST fridge is acting up again. The fridge is not displaying any errors, but it seems to run non-stop and the beverages are very cold. At a test, I turned the temp setting to 65F, then unplugged the unit and plugged it back in. The fridge did not begin cooling until
the internal temp reached 65. This seems to indicate the temp sensor(s) is ok.
This differs from my previous issue where there was actual ice build up on the inside and the display read LO.
Is this a relay issue again?

I think it is temperature problem, and it seems a big problem as the fault may be in the board..... a serviceman will tell what exactly the problem is. Admin - http://fridgesreviews.com/
