Water is leaking, actually springing upward, from where the water tube fits into the filter housing. Its the tube feeding the filter, not leaving the filter. The attached photo shows the problem area. Help! 1 - how do I remove the tube from the housing? 2 - Is this a tube issue, a filter housing issue, or both? Any help is greatly appreciated. Just love my 2 year old whirlpool refrigerator. Thank you, Lee leejackson attached the following image(s):

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool WRF989SDAF00 / Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comBelow is a video on this type of tubing connector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBM4GIr8cN4 1 - how do I remove the tube from the housing? See the video 2 - Is this a tube issue, a filter housing issue, or both? I cannot say. You will have to remove the parts and check for cracks etc. Also check that there is not a burr on the end of the tubing. Check that the tubing is nice and round and not oval. Could even be that it need removal and re-seating. Note if you click on the picture or the description of a part a page will open with more info on it. Often there is a Q&A section which might be helpful. |

Is this a part I can pick up at Lowes/Home Depot? I assume I will have to cut the tube to remove the 90 degree fitting....? Perhaps add some more tube. With a snow storm, I have the time! Thanks, Lee leejackson attached the following image(s):

I cannot say for sure but I doubt it as the tubing sizes look to be different. |

I replaced the water tank unit and the filter housing. I probably only needed to replace one of the two, but figured why not. Leak is gone. Thank you so much for all your help!
