Just replaced the level springs. worked great a couple times
now........
I can't find any answer to this mystery.
I put it into drain/spin and it drains but never spins then eventually gives me an Sd error.
I put it into diag mode and it shows an F71
I put it into manual diag and can spin it up to full speed.

What it is not:
nothing between tubs
water drains fine so I will assume there is no blockage
water level sensor works fine
Lid lock works fine in diag mode and in real time lid can't be opened.

Anyone with a theory of operation?
Or maybe an answer

These models are great when they work, when they don't diagnosing is very difficult, even for Whirlpool techs.

Clean out the drain lines and the pump and check the pump and the wiring to the pump. That could be the problem but the wiring to the lid lock and the control unit are also potential suspects.

Sorry not to be more specific, it's the nature of this beast.

I'm not getting it?
If I said the unit drain in a reasonable time and the lid lock works - WHY would u post that answer?

After much time of being beat by my washer doing all the diagnostics I used my auto mechanic skills and checked for continuity from the p4 connector to the drain pump connector which it didn't have. So I pulled the plug apart and couldn't believe how cheap the were when designing the harness. It just had the two blue wires clamped in not crimped. So I cut that connector off and crimped on two spade connectors that slip tight over the pins on the pump. Better than whirlpool and washer is fixed. So if your having the same issue where it won't drain and spin start at the pump connector make sure to look at the plug and mark one of the wires and the side of pump it goes on.Hope this saves someone time.
