I also have a Whirlpool Accubake electric oven model: GBS307PRS01

My lower baking element had burned out between the connector and the element. I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros and now it is the only element that turns on when I use the oven. The broil element does not come on even when it is set to broil. It did work prior to replacing the baking element. Now the baking element comes on when it is set to either bake or broil.

It also does not turn off while the oven is on no matter what temp the oven is set to causing it to over cook. Looking for what I should check next. I haven't been able to find any related posts here or elsewhere. Thanks in advance for any help.

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool GBS307PRS01 Oven - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

You symptoms are very weird especially that the broil element works with a blown bake element but not with a good bake element.

All I can do is guess that the control board also blew when the bake element went out.

Unplug the unit and check the resistances of the bake element, the broil element and the oven sensor.
If OK then I would try a new control board.

Denman, thank you for the advice. It took me a bit to test them but I did today. The resistance is as it should be for the bake and broil elements as well as the temp sensor.

After I put everything back together the broil element is working again. So my issue is still that the elements do not cycle on and off, once I turn the oven on they start heating and stay on until I turn the oven off or the time expires. Does it still sound like the control board?

Thank you I guess that's a job for the home warranty guys. It's way beyond my deductible cost-wise.

I appreciate the help, see you next time something breaks. At least I got the bake element replaced on my own. It is nice to be able to address the simple things myself.
