The other night we were washing some clothes and it was a fairly large load of Hoodies. No larger than we have in the past. We noticed a lot of banging coming from the washer so my wife stopped it. When she opened the door smoke was rolling out of it and it had a smell of burning rubber. I was just looking at it a little closer and noticed that the back of the drum is setting lower than the front of the drum. Could it be that the Shocks are worn out on the back of the drum and the misalignment could be causing the boot to hit and cause friction and just got hot? This has been a great washing machine and I hate to get rid of it if its a simple fix. I did run a cycle with no clothes in it to make sure it would still spin and it did but it was wobbleing like crazy so I stopped it. That tells me that the spin function is still working but was wondering if the shocks could be the whole problem? Thanks for any help you can give with this.
