i cannot get my diswasher to select the normal cycle. the cancel light flashed real dim and as you push the normal button to get it into the cycle before starting i will not light up. if you push the cancel button a couple times it will start flashing and then after about 30 second it will go dim. i replaced the controler board tonight and that did not seem to eliminate the problem..

Here is the tech sheet https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%208537797.pdfDo any of the other cycle types run? If yes than the keypad becomes a prime suspect. Can you get the motor to run, can you get it to fill, finding out what will run and what will not should help you diagnose this. To at least raise the odds that your next part will be the correct one. The tech sheet includes how to check your keypad. Note that this keypad is the matrix type so if one of the diodes on the keypad goes it can do all sorts of weird and not so wonderful things. |

i actually pushed the buttons enough that it ran a complete cycle. now it is back to flashing cancel the random buttons lighting up. i think you might be right about the button panel.

so i replace the keypad and still have issues. i have to push the normal button several times to get it to light up. the one thing that bothers me is that the cancel light will go on very dim when pushed and kinds flicker but not bright. eventually pushing the start button lights up the normal wash and energy dry but it takes a few pushes of the button.

Just a thought, but I would check the connections to the control board for corrosion and test the control board itself.

so i replace the keypad and still have issues Did you check the keypad with a meter as shown in the tech sheet before replacing it? If yes did it read OK?
You have replaced both control board and keypad, with no change in the symptoms, correct?
So you can be fairly confident that the problem is exterior to the boards. As with the keypad you need a meter. The unit should be checked to see if it is getting the correct power (120 volts) at the board. A poor connection where power connects to the unit is a possibility (a bad wire nut), could be a bad receptacle etc. in the house wiring, a bad connection in the wires running from power in to the board or bad contacts in the door switch.
If power is OK then odds are high that something else is pulling the boards power supply down. The only thing I see that should be active/connected all the time is the thermistor. Disconnect it and see if the board lights up properly.
May be time to call in a pro.
I am off to the lake later this AM for a couple days. Hopefully others will jump in with ideas on this problem. |
