My dryer stopped heating. I cleaned out lint from back, didn't help. Then I changed the heating element as it was broken when took it out. I have now replaced, but now when I plugged it in and started it, it blew the circuit in my entire house.

Please help!!!!!

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool LEQ8000JQ3 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for your tech sheet.

With the unit unplugged check the power at the wall receptacle to be sure it is OK.
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral should be 120 volts.
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts.

Set your meter to it's most sensitive resistance setting, usually 200 ohms.
Short the meter leads together before starting so you can see if there is a zero offset in the meter.

With the unit unplugged and the timer where it blew the breaker check at the end of the power cord:

L1 to L2 should be infinite ohms (open)
L2 to Neutral should also be open.
L1 to Neutral will probably have some resistance but I do not know what it will be Just make sure that it is not 0 ohms.
If OK then have someone push the start button to see what happens. The resistance may drop some but again should not be 0 ohms.
