I think we can make a cheap repair on this washer by replacing the shocks. What do you think?

The air vent hose (?) is rubbing near the top, left, rear corner of the housing, even during an agitation cycle. If I stabilize the housing during agitation, it works much better, but I still see contact between the hose housing and the side panel, even though the washer is level.

I'm convinced we are not yet a victim of the dreaded spider arm corrosion issue, or a bad bearing. Drum seems to rotate freely and cleanly by hand, and there is no wear on the plastic drum (housing?).

The first photo shows the problem in the dead center of the photo. The camera is on the left, front side of the washer, pointed up to the back left side corner. The wear between air vent hose housing and the left panel is shown in the center of the frame.

The second photo shows the front left shock, perhaps by showing over compression to those with experience.

Replacing the shocks will certainly stabilize the drum to some degree, but will they lift the hose housing far enough away from the side panel?

Thanks!
