Good Morning All -

Before all the college games start today, I've been tasked with replacing our broken dishwasher with the new one which was delivered an hour ago. I've already removed the old one, replaced drain hose with new one, prepped the dishwasher, and before installation was verifying that all connections were compatible when I found out that the water supply one wasn't. I checked the installation manual (Despite the blow to my manhood :) ) and it said that this adapter may be required.

The reason I'm posting is that before I take the 45 minutes trip to Home Depot, I want to verify that it's the only additional part needed to connect the water source. Yes, I do need a 90' angle adapter, but judging from pic online, not 100% sure that it will connect to my existing water supply hose. I looked to see if the old dishwasher may have a part I could use, but don't think so.

Below are pictures I took of everything which I hope will explain things better...

Pic #1 - End / Connector of My Existing Water Supply
Needs to connect to next picture
Freezer Model 106-8263380.pdf (1,314kb) downloaded 1 time(s).

Pic #2 - Where Water Supply Connects to New Dishwasher
Needs to connect to previous picture

Pic #3 - Where the Water Supply Was Attached on the Old DishWasher
Forgot to rotate pic. The left side should actually be on the bottom (rotate 90' left) Existing water supply screwed into the threaded metal 90' connector

Pic #4 - Adapter Manual Said I May Need to Make Water Connector Fit New DW
Link to it and it's description on Home Depot's website

Overall Question (again)
Will the part in the 4th pic alone allow me to connect the water supply hose in the first pic to the connector on the new dishwasher in the 2nd pic? I've got some teflon tape which I plan to use unless the adapter has gaskets, but wanted to make sure it would work or if additional parts may be needed.

Hope that's enough detail. Thanks for your help!! Go Vols!!

Yes all you should need is the adapter elbow as long as you water supply line is flexible and long enough.

I cannot see if your existing water line connector has a gasket in it.
If it does you should not need teflon tape here.
I would check that if there is a gasket that it is in good shape.
The other end of the elbow that attaches to the dishwasher should have a gasket.

Note that it is a good idea to flush the supply line out.
Moving it often loosens crud which can clog the water valves filter screen.
So move it around a bit then slowly turn on the shut off valve and drain some water into a container.
