Hi all. My elderly widow neighbor has a GE top loading, front access washer that will not spin or agitate. It fills and drains fine. I tried that reset video on YT for kicks. It didn't work. I didn't have my Fluke with me, so I didn't get any voltage readings. I did take the front panel off and the motor does nothing. The belt is fine, the agitator doesn't spin freely. My first thought is that the lid switch could be bad except that the washer should agitate with the lid open or closed.
Although I'm a stay at home mom, I'm also an automotive mechanic so I should be able to follow you pretty well. If voltages need to be checked, please list the color wire and what the voltage should be. Same goes for ohms. Also include any tools I'll need. (I can't run back and forth but once a day because I'll have toddlers and a newborn in tow... on foot.) TIA :)
