Hello I am Boyd.. I have a WED7500VW0 Whirlpool Dryer
The wiring harness came loose inside it upfront by the timer and rubbed against the drum and it removed the insulation to the brown power wire and threw the breaker. I would reset the breaker and hit the power button and it would sent a orange spark inside the drum. I've never seen anything like it before so I took the top of the machine off and after the 3rd time of resetting the breaker to see where that spark was coming from... the wall socket went bad so I had an electrician come repair it. I spliced the burnt power wire with a butt connector.. that did not fix it like I thought so I chased down wires for continuity and also the power button and door switch all had continuity but when I decided to check out the Power Switch...the contacts I found were welded together I took a small screw driver and cleaned it up and reinstalled it I have power going to the power button.. But I didn't make a schematic of how the wires came off and tried putting the brown and blue + high and low on the switch.. but still the dryer did absolutely nothing at all. check the breakers and reset them and still nothing..Are there any wiring diagrams online for this model? The one on the top of the unit was vague at best and not much help only mention wire colors and components. I am beginning to think that wire is like some phone cords and can't be spliced but it checks out for continuity. the power switch works, the door switch works. I get power from the back of the machine up to the power button on the blue and brown wires. the timer board showed no burn marks or cracked or swollen capacitors. If there is a fuse in it besides the thermostat type I cannot locate it anywhere. The manuals online I have found were not helpful they were just the owners manual and install manuals which probably never get read since they are usually just plugged in and push the start button.. Any ideas or answers or wiring diagrams for this model would be a great help.
P.S. Does anyone know if the front of the drum has holes in them because if they don't the wire burned about 6 holes through the metal drum I ran my finger over them and they were rough I wasn't sure if that is what the insulation was chaffing on or is that just damage from the arcing of the electricity.
