When it doesn't there's power to the water inlet valve. I cleaned out the (hairy stuff) in the bottom of the dishwasher tub. If I fill the tub with water by hand, I can drain it by selecting the drain cycle. Can a bad water inlet valve cause problems like this? For many years the Heavy and Normal cycle has not worked. Only the light duty cycle does. The light cycle works fine for us? What can cause this problem? Thanks for any help,

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire FDB510LCS3 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comWhen it doesn't there's power to the water inlet valve. Can a bad water inlet valve cause problems like this? Yes If there is power (120 volts) across the valve and water does not enter the unit then the valve is bad. I am assuming from your post that the unit does fill sometimes. If it never fills then it could be a clogged screen filter on the inlet side of the valve. If this is the case clean the screen. Do not permanently remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could jold it open and cause a flood. |
