I have a Kenmore washer that won't do the final spin. It will spin after the wash, but not after the rinse. This happens on all cycles and at both spin speeds. The problem is intermittent, but is becoming more consistent. I suspect the timer, but I am reluctant to replace the timer without being pretty sure. I don't have a multimeter to test the timer, and I have not looked at it to see if it appears to be worn.

This does certainly sound like the timer, and you really cannot test it effectively. Go ahead and replace it, and if you buy the part from this site you can return it if it does not fix the problem.

OK, so I am trying to get the timer out, and the dial face won't come off. Is there a way to force it without damaging it? The knob comes off, and I am supposed to be able to just pull the dial face off, but it won't move.

Got it. It just took a little "convincing" with a pair of pliers.

The new timer is in, and the washer is working again.
