Hello, I bought an old Beverage Air DD50 Keg Fridge 10+ years ago. It ran on r12 refridgerant at 9 oz. Since i've had it, i've had to replace the compressor 2 times. The first time, we found another r12 and i had a repair guy come out and we had success with a used compressor and it lasted for another 5 years probably. This second time the compressor died, I had my cousin help me this time. He works as a refridgeration tester at Whirlpool.

Couple things i noticed. The thermostat appears to be alright, you can hear it click the compressor on. When i feel the copper tubing in the back of the compressor its cold. When it was working, i only turned the dial to 4 (1-10 dial where 10 is coldest) and it cooled and held at 40 degrees for a day or two before it stopped.

We assumed that it was like for like when it comes to the amount of refridgerant required r12 vs r134.....but we didn't know for sure so we used 9 oz as stated for the original r12.
