Greetings Appliance Pros,

I installed a new control panel in our GE JTP86 wall oven. Everything seemed to hook-up fairly easily and as far as I can tell, everything is 'connected' correctly.

However, the START button and the CLEAR/OFF button do not seem to work. I can set a time, input a temp value, turn on/off the light, etc. but no Start/Clear.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time!

Fixed it. If anyone else runs into the same scenario: the flat ribbon connector that links the board to the button panel does not connect very well. You got to make sure its sitting as deep in the slot as possible and then adjust slightly sideways until the inputs (button presses) can get triggered/registered.
