The temperature in the freezer varies widely from -5F to +34F. Is this normal? I do not have water hooked up to ice maker and did confirm that the ice maker switch is in the off position.

Frig seems to be cycling with the defrost timer so that a few times a day the freezer temp spikes up to near freezing then drops back to about zero.

The thermometer sensor is in the air inside freezer and the freezer has little food in it. Is this placement ok to measure temperature function. Thanks for your thoughts.
