Hi I'm new to the site hoping for some advice. My Maytag front loader will fill, agitate, drain just fine but will not spin. The motor runs but the drum wont move. Door locks like its supposed to. I did the bearings and belt back in 2013 and its been running fine until today. Is this the motor control board problem or something else?

This thing has run 8-10 loads a week since 2001 without a hitch, started sounding like a jet in 2013 so I did the bearings, but other than that, its run like a champ.

Should I count my blessings & get a new unit or is there an easy fix ?

It sounds like you are pretty handy and skilled, particularly to have replaced the bearings, but after ten years I think you should congratulate yourself and celebrate with a new machine. Putting money into this model is just not a good idea.

But if you do want to take a crack at it, and don't have the service manual here is the link.

Note that your model is discussed at the back, even though it is not mentioned in the table of contents. And yes, that is Mr. Carlson on the cover.

Thanks for the info. I took your advice and bought a new set. After 8-10 loads a week for 14 years (4 sons :) ) , I agree I got my money's worth! I'll pass the manual on to the new owner.
