I've got a warm fridge. The freezer is cold. Had a tech come look at it and said the evap was kinda loose so he thought that was the problem. He said if it still didn't warm then its the mother board. Problem still existed so I replaced the board. Still not working. I just took the freezer apart and all the coils are frosted up a lot. Also.....the third light bar from the bottom on the freezer side temperature control flashes. What does that mean? I feel like the tech that came to my house didn't troubleshoot and just took our money.

Please help!!!

It really sucks not having a refrigerator

Here are your parts
Parts for Samsung RS261MDWP/XAA / Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.com

Below is a link to a tech sheet for this unit.

Unfortunately I cannot find more info on this unit.

Also I am not sure what or how the tech figured that an "evap was kinda loose" would cause a problem.

The third bar error looks like it is related to a defrost sensor error.

If the evaporator coils are iced/frosted over to the point that the evaporator fan cannot pull air through them then I would say it is not defrosting.

Try forcing a defrost.
This should be done when the coils are iced up.
The circuit has a bi-metal which if it is the same as most other units opens just above freezing.

Also check the thermal fuse and defrost sensor resistances and the heater resistance if the heater does not come on when you force a defrost.
I am not sure how hot this defrost heater gets so be careful to not burn your fingers.
Note that resistance checks must be done with the unit unplugged.

Thanks for the info. I went a bought a multimeter last night. I'm pretty sure I check everything but I'm not sure where the defrost sensor is. I checked the 2 temp sensor (top left in freezer & fridge side). I check a sensor on the evap canister. Those 3 sensors shot the same amount of resistance. I also check the thermo fuse and heater. The heater was around 46 on resistance. I would have done the force defrost if known but since I let it defrost itself its been working all day with no issues. Maybe I check the defrost sensor but what number is it on the parts breakdown? Thanks again.

I think the defrost sensor is 1-13 in the Freezer Parts section.
