My washer keeps shutting off. I have to stand there and keep pushing start until it finally keeps going. It can and will stop at anytime during the cycle. I think its the timer any suggestions?

It sounds very much like a problem in the electronics, maybe a wire connection, more likely just a worn out connection. This model is very troubled, the fact that you are still using it is a testament to your incredible luck. Celebrate by getting a new one, this one is 200 years old in washer years.
