Great forum, have found help here before hope I can again!
GE side by side, water is freezing in the freezer floor and I assume when the defrost cycle runs, turns to water and runs out on the floor. Clogged drain line? I wanted to see what the experts say before I start doing anything other than melting the iceberg in the freezer floor. Thanks!

Here are your parts Parts for GE GSS25JFMCWW Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.com[COLOR="Blue"]Clogged drain line?[/COLOR] Yes that would also be my diagnosis as long as you are sure that the ice maker is not leaking/overfilling. The drain tube (item 225 in section 07) has a U-trap in it so it is likely that is where it is plugged. I would check that it is clear. If plugged a turkey baster with warm water, an air compressor with low pressure or a wire can often be used to clear it. Also check that it is not plugged with dust etc. at the drain pan end. You might as well clean the condenser/compressor fan and the condenser coils while you are down there. If it looks like stuff is growing in the tube I would flush it with a 10% bleach solution. This should kill the stuff and let you flush it out. You may have to do this several times, let it sit for 15 minutes or so between flushes. Be careful that the drip tray does not overflow and empty the drip tray after you are done. Be sure to unplug the unit while doing this. Also a good time to clean the vents, the condenser coils and the fan blades. |

Thanks for the reply and tips. It appears that it was a clogged drain line, I used a hair dryer and cleared out all the ice in the drain trough and on the floor of the freezer, emptied the icemaker, dried everything off and let it run. Checked several cycles of ice (heard the dump into the bin), no water. This morning, water in the trough and floor of the freezer. Used some heavy .095 diameter grass trimmer line to snake out the drain line and down went the water. I will run some warm water through it and then empty the pan, this should have solved my problem but I will update so that it may help others with this problem. Thanks for your quick and thorough response, and thanks to APP for a great forum and parts supply!!
