Our built-in double oven stopped working after the self clean cycle. Tested the control panel thermal fuse and it appears to have blown. I was told the fuse only comes as part of the main wire harness (4455737) but has been discontinued. I have searched the internet for 2 days trying to find someone that carries the fuse or the wire harness with no luck. I have seen other, similar fuses out there but they claim to not be compatible with my model.

Are there any alternate fuses out there that I can use as a safe substitute?

I really don't want to have to buy a new oven simply because I can't find a $15 part to fix it...

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool GBD307PDS7 Oven - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for your tech sheet.

As far as I know this unit only has 3 thermal fuses.

The first two kill power to the elements (item 37 in sections 01 and 02.

The third kills power to the control board (item 19 in section 07)
I think this is the one you need.

Be sure that the blower is working properly.

Thanks but unfortunately that is not the correct part. The thermal fuse I need is connected to the main wire harness and connects to the back of the control panel. It is a long thin fuse that looks similar to this one (but this ones states it is not compatible with my model):

For my model, I was also told that I cannot buy the fuse itself, that it only comes as part of the main wire harness:

The frustrating part is that the wire harness is discontinued and I haven't been able to find it sold anywhere.

I am trying to find out if there is another similar fuse I can use as a suitable/alternate replacement that is compatible with my make/model.

PS - blower works fine, I just replaced it about a year ago.

Try to get the numbers if there are any off the fuse.
Then use them to search the net.

You may be able to find just the fuse and then will have to crimp it into the harness
