Icycles intermittently form under the ice maker and fridge section gets warm. Turn it off and everything resets and works for a few days to a week then repeats

Hi.

Please provide more info. How often this happen-once a day, once a week? Are the icicles formed directly under the ice maker or under the ice bin? Is there melted ice in the bin? Is the temperature gets warmer in both compartments?
It sounds like it could be a problem with the main control board (located at the back of the fridge behind the metal plate on the right) and the defrost sensor (located on the top of the evaporator coil).

Model DSS25KGREBB

The sensor is #241 on the diagram 03 Part number: AP3185407
Part number: AP3185407

Control board is #801 on the diagram 09 Part number: AP4436216
Part number: AP4436216

Thank you,

Simon.

Happens maybe weekly. Ice forms under the bib near the water tray, hard to tell exactly where. Both sides do get warmer and the ice in the bin does melt, but not completely.

Hi.

Change out the defrost sensor and if that is not going to cure the disease - put a new control board in.
Keep us posted with the results.

Thank you,

Simon.
