My kenmore fridge has stopped working, but the freezer is still cold. I have tried to unplug and defrost but that seems not to work. I am not a very mechanical type guy but can find my way around inside the fridge. The fan runs and freezer is very cold, i have also tried to reset the temps inside the fridge but that is not working. The coils are clean and sounds like the condensor is running but still no cold in fridge.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's open. If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too. Part 13 on this diagram is your vent/damper control. It may not be opening. KENMORE | Model #59675512400 | KENMORE REFRIGERATOR | CONTROLS | SearsPartsDirect.com

I have tried deicing the coils then replugging in but that is not working. The coils were really not that iced up in the first place. but i thought that may help.

Just to be sure, is the fan in the freezer running. The evaporator coils should have a thin coating of frost all over them. Does it?

Just one tube having frost on it signifies that the system is low on freon but if that is the case the freezer would not be very cold.
Is the fan blowing cold air into the fridge.
