Just did fridge shuffle and moved this one to garage. This is a side by side.
With both doors open the front of the fridge between the doors was so hot it could burn your hand if you left it there. Is this normal because it was working so hard to come down to temp? It was trying to cool as we where loading it.

I shut both doors and am leaving it alone to cool down. I will check it again in a couple hours.

I cannot find ant info on the given model number.
Please check it.
Sears/Kenmore numbers are usually 3 digits a period and then an additional 8 numbers.

A hot frame is often due to poor condenser cooling.

Pull the unit forward and remove the rear cover.
Check that the condenser/compressor fan is running.
It should be on when ever the compressor is on.
If not on you may need a new fan.

Unplug The unit.
Check/clean the rear cover and the front kick plate vents are clean.
Check and clean the condenser coils under the unit.

Note that the rear cover must be on for the unit to cool correctly underneath.

thanks for the reply. 24 hours later and it is cool to the touch. I will check the condensor fan and clean the coils anyway. I appreciate the help.
