I recently purchased the food and freezer door gaskets for my GE refrigerator. Before I damage anything, what is the correct method to remove the old gaskets and install the new ones? It APPEARS that a gray tab on the gaskets presses into slots in the doors, but I did not want to damage anything by being hasty. Thanks for any suggestions. Mike

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it. Post the part numbers for the door gaskets you bought.
Gene.

Sorry Gene, My model is equivalent to TBX18SASALWH. The parts are AP2067922 (freezer door) and AP2067923 (fresh food door). Thanks, Mike

Looking at the diagrams there are suppose to be a screws around the door, holding the gasket through the retainer strips. Their heads are under the gasket. Check it out. Gene.

Hi Gene, I forgot to post feedback once I finished the job.
Each door has a stainless "retainer strip v" that stays screwed to the door. The gaskets get pressed into the strips. There is an arrowhead shaped molding on the rear of the gasket that is pressed into the v groove. I used c-clamps with wood shims at the corners, because it is difficult to get both ends pressed in by hand at the corner junction.
So, the old gasket is carefully pried out, and you stretch and press the new gaskets into the strips.
Thanks for the lead, Mike K.
