First time user here! Thanks for all your advice in this forum. Last night our GE washer, which is less than 3 years old quit spinning. It will fill and drain and cycle but will not spin/agitate.
Another possible unrelated/related problem is water leaking from somewhere. I removed the front facing per instructions I've found on similar threads to find soapy water collected in the base of the frame, as well as an intact belt and a red LED light that flashes once then pauses and repeats.
I know things aren't made like the good ole days but this seems a little earlier for major problems. Any help is appreciated!

Hi. Please check the lid switch and the magnet. The magnet is located on inside of the lid on the right and the switch is under the top panel matching the magnet location when the lid is closed. If the magnet is missing or the lid switch is broken the washer will not agitate or spin. Trace the lid switch wires to the control board and check continuity between those two wires with the lid closed. First check if the magnet is properly attached and washer is unplugged. With the lid closed there should be continuity. If no continuity - replace the lid switch. You also can install a wire jumper to bypass the switch. If washer will work and magnet is there, the switch should be replaced. The lid switch Part number: AP3968471
