So the dryer wouldn't turn. It was making a soft humming/buzzing sort of sound seemingly emanating from the control panel area. After watching a video on how to get a view of the belt, it is indeed in tact (albeit as old as the dryer probably 14 years and likely ought be replaced?). So I gave the tub a spin by hand (it was not easy to spin but I got it to turn about one full revolution). So I plugged it back in, and it started working. For what it's worth it squeaks a bit when turning so things probably need lubed or bearings need replaced also Any ideas? Thanks.

A model number may be helpful Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.comSounds like more than just a belt. Could be the motor or the bearings etc. that support the drum. Perhaps try manually turning the drum in the correct direction on a couple other units to get a feel for it. You will have to open it up to see what is wrong. |
