Have a Whirlpool Double oven, Model # RBD305PDQ1, the top oven, broiler elements is on all the time, even after replacing the oven shutdown thermal fuse and the control thermal fuse, it still stays on ? Had a service Tech come out and said control panel is burnt out and we need to get another one, called for the part # 4448876 but no longer available. My wife made the mistake while cooking in the top oven and accidently hit the cleaning cycle button, didn't have her glasses on, started the cleaning cycle, tried to clear but wouldn't shut off, went out side and turned off breaker, rechecked 2 hours later and control panel was blank, changed out the oven shutdown thermal fuse and the control thermal fuse, panel lite back on, but can't do any functions on the control panel, any one have any idea why the top broiler element is staying on ?
Thank you in advance,
Minio Garcia

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool RBD305PDQ1 Oven - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. FYI: You are in the Refrigeration section not Ovens/stoves etc. Doe sound like the control board is toast. Either the electronics on the board are closing the relay when they should not or the elements relay contacts are welded together. Note that there are companies out there that repair obsolete control boards. |

Thank you for the information, when I took the Board out last night , I did see a set of contacts burnt together, that I believe is the reason the top broiler is staying on, switched out an extra Board I had form a remodel project from next door and the whole darn thing now works. I will be sending the burnt out Board to repair to 'Fix Your Board ' in Austin, TX.
Again , thank you for the information. It is too bad that consumers have to go through many Contractor/Repair Men to get a correct answer. I used (3) , and $400.00 later from this post we narrowed it down to a bad Board
