Good luck my friend.

Thank you. One of the faults that comes up is F7 E1 (Basket Speed Sensor Fault), which would make sense for my issue. I do the Manual Test Mode for Low Spin and High Spin. The motor engages and basket spins for about 3-4 seconds when the motor disengages and the basket spins freely until stops. It seems that the basket should spin until I manually stop it.... do you know if that is correct. I am going to begin the Test #3a and #3b (Drive System -Shifter and Motor).

Thanks!

How can I run a diagnostic test without a diagnostic display?

Adding details I have the whirlpool wtw5640XW2. works fine when empty. most times running a second spin drain cycle works for normal loads but not always. seems like there may be some springs or sensors that are bad since it works fine when empty but fails under load. Appreciate any thoughts. error code F7E1.

I know I am really late to the forum, but maybe I can help others having the same problem. I retrieved the service manual from under the bleach dispenser on the front panel, and started to attempt to diagnose the problem. I could not believe it was mechanical or something electrical when the spin cycle worked in the drain and spin setting, so I removed the control panel, removed the hose that runs to the water level sensor, and with the help of a syringe type meat injector ran straight white vinegar through the hose to clean the hose and sensor. This has corrected my problem, the machine runs like new not missing a beat, and cost me absolutely nothing but my time and mental stress dealing with the problem and finding a solution.
BTW the code on my machine was, F9E1 too long drain time, and I did also tear the whole drain system apart to ensure it was clean and obstruction free before cleaning the water level hose and sensor.

I have a similar problem but drive motor won't turn on in diagnostic mode. I hear clicking and sometimes the motor will surge for a second. I ordered a start cap for it hopefully that it.
