Hello,
I am trying to buy an old dishwasher because I need it to dry dishes completely (the old ones have a built in fan, I'm told). I saw an ad for a Kenmore ultra wash 2008. Is it too new to be drying dishes? The owner did not know. I was told that I should buy a dishwasher that was at least 10 years old, but I was wondering if I could get away with 7. My new dishwasher does not dry (and does not clean well). I am disabled and I can't continue to dry all the dishes by hand, so I an looking for an old one. Thank you.

There is probably something wrong with your dishwasher if it is not drying the dishes.

Thank you for your answer, but I found out too late that new dishwashers don't dry dishes, and mine, a Whirlpool, is also cooking the dirt on the dishes instead of removing it. There is nothing wrong with the dishwasher, so the vendor (a small retailer) won't let me return it.

So, I am looking for an old dishwasher with power spray to really clean dishes, and with a fan to expel the humidity and really dry dishes.

Hence my original post, would a Kenmore 2008 wash and dry the dishes?
In general, how do I find out if a dishwasher is the old type with a fan? Thank you.

Sorry but it still sounds like there is a problem with your current unit.

As far as Kenmore they actually do not make anything, so their units are from other manufacturers. The fist 3 digits in the model number designates who made it for instance 110.???????? is Whirlpool.

Without a model number I cannot say if a unit includes a fan.
