Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/28/2009(UTC) Posts: 7		The cam riser on the bottom of my freezer door is shot so I am trying to replace it so the door closes/seals better (it now pops open whenever you shut the refrigerator door). I replaced the one on the refrigerator a while back, but the freezer adds an additional complication of the water line tube for the ice-maker going through the cam riser. I can't get the door off to replace the cam riser without removing the water line. The question is how do I easily remove the water line and then re-install it. FYI, model is GE TFX24RLJ. Thanks for any and all advice.

Thanks for any and all advice. Bob, First you'll need to remove the kickplate/grill panel on the front bottom of the refrigerator. Find the water tube coupler Part number: AP2060230 Loosen and disconnect the coupler portion installed on the tube that goes to the hinge assembly and remove the nut on the water tube. Of course you've already unplugged the power cord and turned the water supply to the refrigerator off. You'll also need to separate the electrical wire harness as well. Then remove the freezer door upper hinge cover and three screws that hold the hinge to the refrigerator cabinet. Carefully lift the complete door up and off the hinge, and set it on a blanket on the floor, hinge side up. Replace the cams and lifters as necessary, and lubricate liberally with silicone based grease. Reverse the prodecure, make sure you align the door properly, and the properly tighten the top hinge screws and test and flush the water dispenser at the door. Thanks and Good Luck, :) :) :)

It turns out that BOTH the cam risers...the one attached to the door AND the one attached to the hinge...are bad. I'm assuming for the door one I need to buy the whole hinge assembly since the cam riser is bolted on.

Thanks Again, :) :) :) Great video. Although 1 thing is omitted. I received my hinge, with bottom cam attached. But, it also came with the top cam. In order to replace the top cam, the freezer door must be removed to get at the little bolts that hole the cam keeper in place. ,
