We noticed today that one rear burner gets VERY hot when the oven is used (you can feel the heat radiating from the burner itself). No the burner wasn't on - I checked! Does this sound fixable and what is the average life expectancy of whirlpool oven ranges?

Need a Model Number

If the element was not on then this is probably the burner which has the vent from the oven under it. In which case it is normal.

Model # RS6305XYW6 Whirlpool oven

Thanks so much for your reply - we do see a vent back there. I just can't believe we haven't noticed this in 3 years, not sure if something is different or not.
