Can I bypass lid lock to see if that's the reason my washer won't work ?

No, you cannot bypass the lid lock on these models.

What originally happened was the load stopped in the middle I opened washer. Put on drain cycle but when I closed door the lid lock light does not light up. No matter what I select the lock won't activate. I'm sure it's the lock but there isn't a way to test the lock to see if that's the issue for sure

Was the lid lock unlocked when you opened the lid or did you force it open? There is a way to test these but it is involved. There are two switches in the device, one being the lid switch activated by magnet in the lid strike, the other being the lock switch activated by a solenoid in the device controlled by signal from the control board. If you forced the lid open, it must be replaced.

You can operate the lid lock from service mode to see if it is working. There is a tech sheet in the front of the washer cabinet. Either open the top or tilt the machine back for access to the tech sheet. It will tell you how to get into service mode. From there you can run a test on the lid lock as well as check for error codes and perform various other tests to determine what is wrong with the washer.

I replaced the lid lock. It actually locked and started to sense fill. Started filling I walked away thinking it worked. Came back and now it won't lock again having trouble getting it into service mode. There's a combination of rotations you need to do and for some reason I'm not doing it right
