I bought a coin operated Whirlpool washing machine about 4 mouths ago and now it has stopped working. All LEDs (4 green and one red for lid lock) are lit and machine will not start.
unplug/plug does not help at all. I found a procedure to reset or recalibrate the main control board using the heavy duty/normal/delicate knob, which although it fixes the problem for a while, but soon after the same problem reappears, i.e all LEDs go on and it stops working all together again. Does anyone know what could be wrong here? If there is a defective part, I wonder what could it be since the machine seems to work fine for at least the time that it does!
The warranty covers only the parts, not the labor. So far, I got two different diagnoses from two different authorized dealers, one the control board being bad and the other the motor going bad, neither one gives any guarantee if their solution would be permanent one.
Any suggestion is very much appreciated.

Most of us who respond on this Forum work on older machines, mostly residential and I fall into that category. So my comment is fairly general, which is that your problem sounds like a bad control board.

See if Whirlpool will not send you a new control board which you should be able to install yourself.

For anyone who might be interested, I finally got this figured out, by pure chance I would say. It turns out when the machine was delivered, the delivery guys apparently got the machine out of cardboard box, but forgot to get all the cardboard/Styrofoam from under the machine. This cardboard is used to hold the drum in its place during the transportation. Anyway, I cleaned up the pieces of the cardboard and the machine is working just fine now.
