I have a GE XL1800 Spacemaker over range micrwave oven. It will not heat food. Everything is operational, timer, carousel, lights etc.. It does appear to be making a louder then usual humming when turned on.Exhaust fan opens normally as well. Any ideas?

Thank you

I would say that the diode is bad causing the noise but almost always when the diode is bad the magnetron tube is also bad. Some microwaves have a 10 year magnetron tube warranty so you need to check into that before you attempt to repair this yourself. Microwave Repair Guide
