Found them while working on my machine.

They are containers for the shipping pins that are released when the washer is first installed. The pins keep the suspension system from shifting around during shipping and installation. A cord is attached to a clip in the end of each pin. When the washer is installed, the cord is pulled which pulls the clips out and the pins drop into those little containers.
