My son-in-law took matters into his own hands and "encouraged" the door to close with some judicious force in the right directions. Screwdriver idea also sounds reasonable. Not sure how long the door will continue to close but if it starts to act up again, it knows what's in store.

Hi,
I'm not the only one having the same problem. Upper and lower doors do not close completely and the light stays on. Over the past years, I've solved the problem by placing a round magnet on the door so that the light goes out. Now the hinges on the upper door have broken. I found this thread and printed out the Technical Bulletin that suggests Kit Number 12002112 to correct the problem (broken hinge and light won't go out) on the JJW9630CAS. In this thread, the recommended part for a JJW9530 is AP4010213. When I checked compatibility with my JJW9630CAS, it said it does not work and offers no suggestions. I've checked other websites and the 12002112 is available but some say that it is not compatible with my JJW9630CAS. Help! What's the real solution? Thanks, Roy

Digging up old thread.

My model is JMW9527DAS

The bulletin lists JMW9527CAS, but not DAS. Close enough or do I need a different part then the one linked above?

Thanks.

EDIT: didn't see the other pages, looks like Gene already said the "D" instead of "C" would make it not compatible. Any bulletins for my model?

soulman,

I found your model number in the bulletin but in order to provide the correct part numbers for the door hinge and receptacle, I also would need the serial number of the oven.

Wow, Thanks!
Very hard to read and as I tried to clean some of the grime away the numbers are getting wiped off. Best I can tell is:

You would need two hinges Part number: AP6011190
Part number: AP6011190

and two hinge receptacles Part number: AP6011249
Part number: AP6011249

Good luck,
Gene.
