I bought the Whirlpool Ultimate Care II at Sears in Morelia, MI, Mexico.
Yesterday, I did a heavy load of pet blankets, then ran an empty load to rinse away animal hair. During the first filling of the empty run, the water just kept filling. When I went into the room, there was water all over the floor, the machine was agitating, but was filling with water. I pressed the button to turn it off, but the water kept filling. I turned off the water valve and then left it full for the night and focused on the floor.
Today, I kept the valve off and turned the switch to dump the water, which it did. Then I turned the water level to low and started the machine again. When I got back to it, it was over half full, much higher than the low setting. I released the water again and am turning to you.
I would really rather not have to buy a new machine in December... Thanks in advance for your help.

If the water comes into the machine when the faucets are turned on and the machine is not turned on, the problem is likely that the valve assembly is stock in the open position.
If the machine does not allow water in except when it is turned on then the problem is likely with the water level switch or the pressure tube is clogged which leads to the switch.
Either way this is an easy fix and you should not have to replace the machine.
