I just replaced a broken door latch on my dishwasher, reconnected, plugged in and nothing worked. Put a multi meter across the bare metal connectors on the latch and nothing. I checked the installation video that is posted on this site and realized I reversed the black and white connections (doh!).

Would reversing these blow a fuse or damage something?

I am assuming you mean the wires that go to the switches.

Reversing them should not make a difference as long as the blacks go to one switch and the whites go to the other.
