Dishwasher will fill and pump water out but skips wash cycle. The pump and spray arm are not blocked by anything.

If the unit does not heat then it is probably the door switch that interlocks the motor and heater.
Could be the door switch itself or the latch.

If it does heat then check the motor windings with a meter.
If OK
Check them from the control board to see if the wiring is OK.

If it is OK then odds are that it is a control board problem.
