The door to freezer has been left open twice and I had to remove the liner and use a hair dryer on it. The last time was just 2 days ago. Can that ruin anything? Now the top is cool but the bottom keeps things frozen but a soft frozen. The panel has snow on it and blocking the vents along the bottom.
I tilted the front of the frig up hoping to help the door close. So i untitled it hoping maybe it could be something that simple.
I read somewhere to turn a timer/ defroster CW and wait 10 and hope for a hiss. I did that and all it did was tick like a clock.
I really need help don't have much time.
Thanx Lori

Oh the sticker on the door has 3 model numbers BR18V1 ,BR18V2 ,BRD18V1

The snow is a sure sign that the seal is not sealing. Warm air is getting in and when it cools the moisture condenses into snow or ice.

Start with that and see what you get.

Using a hair dryer should not ruin anything.
Was the liner you r4emobves the one that let you get to the evaporator coils so that you could defrost everything using the hair dryer?
The unit should be unplugged when you do this.

I read somewhere to turn a timer/ defroster CW and wait 10 and hope for a hiss. I did that and all it did was tick like a clock.
What you are trying to do is force a defrost cycle.
You turn the timer cam till the fans and compressor turn off.
The unit should now be in defrost and it should last about 30 minutes.
Some units do not hiss as no defrost water hits the defrost heater.

The defrost heater should get hot.

It may take several defrost cycles to totally defrost a unit so it is better to do a manual defrost using the hair dryer.
The coils are probably clogged solid with frost from the warm moist room air entering the unit when the door was open.

Leaving the door open should not cause a peroblem but definitely does not do it any good as you put a lot of moisture into the unit. Also the compressor is running continually which is not a good thing.
