Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 10/19/2014(UTC) Posts: 1		Our dishwasher and garbage disposal is working fine. There is no "Air Gap" in our installation. The dishwasher's drain pipe is also looped through a higher point. In the night before going to bed we run the dishwasher and it drains all the water. The sink will be clean and we will not be running water from the sink faucet. In the morning dirty water will be filled in the dishwasher. Somedays if I haven't opened or run the dishwasher until noon, the dirty water fills up inside the dishwasher and comes out to the floor. Then when I realize and run the dishwasher, it will drain. Not sure how the dishwasher is getting filled with dirty water and where from? Our unit is a townhome and behind our unit there are two (1st floor and 2nd floor) one-level condos and all these units' drain lines may be connected to a common main drain line. Will there be any small clogs in those drain lines pushing water into our dishwasher? Please let me know. Thanks!

I cannot say if the other units are responsible for the backup. I would have thought that if it was a plug you would have noticed your drains were slow. Could be that the plumbing is not connected correctly.
