We just replaced the heating element (two coils were melted in half) and the thermostat attached to the side of it. Dryer is running way too hot. What else could be wrong? The temperature doesn't change when we change the temp setting on the front.

Have you checked ALL internal/external ductwork for excessive lint buildup? This includes inside the blower housing and lint chute. Make sure the blower wheel is not slipping on the motor shaft.

Eric, We cleaned out all the air ducts. The blower wheel does not look like it is slipping. Any other suggestions? Amy
