My Whirlpool Side By Side Will Not Cycle On And Off On Its Own. After Sitting For A While Like All Night Or While We Are Gone To Work. The Frig Will Not Be Running. The Ice Is All Wet And Melting. If You Slam The Door A Few Times It Will Come On And Start Freezing. Once It Cycles Off On Its Own It Will Not Come Back On. You Have To Slam The Door Again To Make It Come On. We Have Gotten In The Habit Of Slaming The Door In The Morning, After Work And Before Bed. Im Thinking This May Be A Thermocouple Problem But Not Sure. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?

Most probably a bad cold control AP3037004. Remove the overlay in the front of the control panel and remove the front and back screws. Tap the control, if the fridg runs, that confirms a bad control.

Not sure where what looks like a cable goes and connects to and or what will have to be taken apart to get to it.

There is a sensing capillary tube that must be routed where the old one was. Just take the screws out of the control panel and let it drop down.
